Remember the times, you were super hungry and couldn’t be bothered to prepare a meal but instead you take yourself out tobuy a meal? You were so hungry that you couldn’t wait to get to the restaurant, place your order quickly and indulge! All of a sudden, this excitement fades at the sight of the person across your table who has the worst table manners ever!  He is chewing with his mouth half open while the food is falling out of his mouth and the usage of a fork and knife may seem like an alien concept to him. Naturally, this has completely killed your appetite.
For all of you who experienced that, hellofood has put together a list of things you would wish to tactfully share with the man (or woman) that has the worst table manners in the world.
How (not) to behave at the table
1.Every man has to stand up and greet the ladies who come after him. If you are a lady, however, there is no need to get up from the table to greet a man or woman.
2.Bags, wallets, keys and mobile phones should not be put on the dining table.
3.The protocol required when there are more than six guests at the table is to mark the table with signs to indicate where each one will sit. Guests on the table need to be organized and positioned according to those with similar interests, so as to avoid awkward situations.
4.When it is a business lunch or dinner, business cards are given before the meal or after closure.
5.Do not talk with your mouth full and do not share inappropriate and rude jokes while eating.
6.Who pays for lunch or dinner? In most cases, the person who initiated the meeting pays for the meal. In other words the person who invites the other(s) is the one who pays.
7.When you have finished with your meal, place the knife and fork to “10.20 pm” on your plate.
8.During meals, avoid complaining about problems in everyday life. Nutrition is a process that requires a calm and pleasant atmosphere.
9.If you have nuggets on your plate, cut them to eat immediately instead of chopping the whole portion.
10.Let your posture be upright and only your wrist should be on the table, not the elbow.
Whether the occasion is an intimate holiday or a business meeting, always follow these table manners.Knowledge of etiquette and protocol will make a good impression on others. Last but not least, remember to smile and spread the good mood! Order through hellofood for a practice round at the comfort of your home.
