Mbeya businessman James Mwampondele has called upon Soccer Lovers and people affiliated to Sports to be in the forefront , of Contributing towards the Development of Sports in the Country.
Mwamponde Whose 15 tons Fusso Truck was among those which took part in ferrying grasses from Mporoto to Mbeya for repairing the pitch of Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya, made the call yesterday when he was speaking to the Guardian in Mbeya city.
He said that his participation in taking part to renovate the Sokoine Stadium pitch which was ordered to be closed by the Tanzania Football Federation [TFF] to undergo repair work,was to help Finish the work on time before the League Kicks off this Month in the second round of the Premier League.
Mwampondeles truck was among the many trucks released by local businessmen in Mbeya that volunteered,in ferrying the grass from Mporoto to Mbeya about 25 kms, and the job was done for several days.
Mwampondele , who is a well known Sports fanatic in Mbeya region has also rendered support in constructing the new goal posts,which will be used for play during the Premier League and other games.
The Sportsman who also owns ‘’AJIM ENTERPRISES LTD’’which deals in the sellings of building ,Engineering and Constructing materials,has its headquarters at Mwalimu House in Ilala in Daressalaam and Mafiatiin Mbeya opposite the Oilcom Filling Station at Mwanjelwa.
Mwampondele through ‘’AJIM ENTERPRISESLTD’’has also donated Netball goals to four Primary Schools in Mbeya City,and other Social Welfare playgrounds as part of promoting Sports in the region.
He named the schools as Mbata,Mwenge,Nzovwe,and Jitegemee and has also provided Six Setsof 15 pairs of Jerseys,to six clubs namely Sido FC,Simike FC,Airport Rangers,Ilemi FC,Kijiweni and Uyole FC both of Mbeya Municipality.
‘’AJIM ENTERPRISESLTD’’has also Donated other Sports gear of jerseys to the two standard six primary school best players of Iwambi,and 50 other playersof the city of Mbeya to promote the development of the game in the region.
When TFF ordered the closure of Sokoine and other Stadia in the country to undergo repair work to improve the standard of pitches,sports lovers and Businessmen in Mbeya and other Parastal bodies like JKT,Magereza and the City Council distributed Motor Vehicles and Manpower to work on the pitch and transform it into Mordern standard and the plan has paid Dividends.
