1. Learn for score in school
It’s common in many students. In reality, society need people who’s really good at English. Don’t study English just for score, degree. The result of studying English for score is many students can not communicate in English after they graduate. (Because of partly educational system in which students study too much grammar, the students don’t have highly qualitative and professional environment to learn English chat).
2. Hate studying English
Some students study well at major, but they can not study English although they attempted to study English with high effort. Don’t you study English with correct method? You don’t have motivation to study English. You feel bored, tired and be under pressure when you have to study English. Then level of your English has not been improved.
3. Practice listening and speaking skills with incorrect method
Some learners listen a lesson 2 or 3 times but can’t understand. Finally, they give up practicing listening skill. Other learners said: people in radio, TV speak English too fast, so they can not understand. Beside, you have problems in listening that is mistake of pronunciation, you still don’t distinguish and pronounce clearly ending sounds (S, ES, ED), don’t know how to emphasize stress of words and sentences, don’t know how to connect words in speaking, don’t distinguish standard rule and decreasing sound…You can not listen so that you can not speak. In addition, you don’t spend much time to practicing listening and speaking skill, even don’t know how to apply what kind of methods to practice speaking English fluently and exactly so that your speaking skill has been limited.
4. Study individual word
Some learners study individual word, also they study English pronunciation like their native pronunciation. It’s so bad for people who study English like that. Some learners like to buy English books which is translated in their native language. Beside, translated books is not absolutely exact and you depend on translated books too much, so your vocabulary is limited, pronounce English incorrectly, study English slowly.
5. Don’t often review
Most students often write down what teachers teach in class, but rarely spend time to review at home. That’s reason make you forget almost all knowledge in class. What teachers taught you in class return to teachers. You will get better if you often review all lessons at home.
6. You don’t have English environment to practice speaking skill
Almost all students study grammar rules too much. Most of you have less condition to get additional knowledge outside class. Even some students took part in English chat club, but did that just for fun, didn’t spend whole time there to practice speaking everywhere, every time. Didn’t be serious, excited, enthusiastic when taking part in English club. Didn’t spend time as much as possible to communicate with foreigner. That’s why your English has not been improved.
